Meinl Snarecraft Cajons combine articulate rhythmic punctuation with a warm tonal quality to give players a focused sound and wide dynamic range. Made of Baltic birch wood, Meinl Snare craft Cajon respond with a punchy low end thud and crisp slap tones. The highly expressive snare sounds come from dual internal sets of snare wires that are fixed against the front plate. Rounded corners on the playing surface offer total comfort while maximizing your touch.
It takes no time to set up, and you get the same kick and snare sounds as a drum set at a fraction of the volume; play with your hands toward the center to get the deepest tone and near the top corners for crisp snare effects. A lot of musical settings don't allow for the space or volume level of full drums; with the Meinl Snarecraft Cajon, you can engage fully during acoustic shows with your band, jam sessions, or with your praise band without taking over.
We craft this cajon in Europe with a 100% Baltic birch wood body, which is also used in high-end drum sets for players serious about sound; the frontplate is made of beautiful heart ash wood. The heart ash playing surface delivers punchy bass tone with about as much volume as an acoustic guitar, and inside the cajon are two sets of fixed coiled steel snare wires that give you a crisp sound (everything comes fully assembled).
The corners of the playing surface are rounded and sanded together with the resonating body so you get defined slap tones; it's perfectly flush where these two pieces meet to feel great on your hands. This Meinl Snarecraft Cajon measures 11 3/4" W x 18" H x 11 3/4" D and weighs 8 lbs; its full size has enough volume for any room, and it's made to last with a solid frame that supports adults.
You can play it anywhere from acoustic shows to outdoor jams to a recording studio; four solid silicone feet on the bottom keep the cajon stable, avoid scratches, and eliminate crazy vibrations on any surface.
