It's a hassle-free way to add completely new sounds to your kit, and open your mind to new patterns and stickings. The Meinl Crasher has a frequency that easily differentiates from hihats and snare with a trashy, electronic, metallic tone, making it an ANALOG ELECTRO AND HIP HOP EFFECT.
To use the Meinl Crasher, simply strike it with a stick or mallet just like a closed pair of hihats; two steel pieces make contact with each other to respond with a short, crisp burst of sound. The wavy edge is perfect for creating guiro sound effects; drag a drumstick across to make a rattling sustain or washboard sound.
The Meinl Crasher comes with a standard 3/8" eye bolt mount that fits percussion rods or cymbal stands, making it easy to place anywhere in your setup. Measuring 10.24" L x 5.5" W (including mount), this versatile add-on provides a nice contrast in sound from cymbals and drums, and can be used in both a drum kit or percussion setup.
