The highly expressive snare sounds are produced by dual internal sets of snare wires fixed against the frontplate. Rounded corners on the playing surface offer total comfort while maximizing the player's touch.
These cajons are a dream for drummers. They require no time to set up and deliver the same kick and snare sounds as a drum set, but at a fraction of the volume. Players can achieve the deepest tone by playing towards the center and create crisp snare effects by playing near the top corners.
MEINL Snarecraft Cajons are particularly useful in musical settings where the space or volume level of full drums is not feasible. With these cajons, players can fully engage during acoustic shows with their band, jam sessions, or with their praise band without dominating the sound.
MEINL crafts these cajons in Europe using 100% Baltic birch wood, the same material used in high-end drum sets for players serious about sound. The resulting cajon is highlighted by a stunning burl wood finish.
The Baltic birch playing surface delivers a punchy bass tone with about as much volume as an acoustic guitar. Inside the cajon, two sets of fixed coiled steel snare wires provide a crisp sound. The cajon comes fully assembled and ready to play.
The rounded and sanded corners of the playing surface, seamlessly integrated with the resonating body, offer defined slap tones and a comfortable feel on the hands. Measuring 11 3/4" W x 19 3/4" H x 11 3/4" D and weighing 9 lbs, the full-size cajon has enough volume for any room and is built to last with a solid frame that supports adults.
MEINL Snarecraft Cajons can be played alongside guitars at acoustic shows, with worship music, in the studio, or at outdoor jams. Four solid silicone feet keep the cajon stable, avoid scratches, and eliminate vibrations on any surface.
