The Solea line Artisan Edition cajon, crafted in Spain by master luthier Jose 'Pepote' Hernandez Diaz, boasts a stately dark olive burst finish. Equipped with a passive Piezo pickup system, this cajon allows for seamless amplification with tone and volume control knobs on the side panel. A quarter-inch cable jack enables you to connect the cajon to any amp or PA system, while a "link" jack allows you to integrate other Meinl passive pickup instruments into the cajon's control system.
Featuring two groupings of four pre-tuned custom hand-wound steel cajon strings that span across the playing surface, the Solea line Artisan Edition cajons deliver a beautifully responsive snare effect. An internal bass reflex system re-directs sound waves inside the cajon, elongating the low-end frequency and resulting in an enhanced bass tone with plenty of thump.
The exquisite Baltic birch playing surface is rounded at the corners and sanded down to form thumb notches, providing exceptional contact and comfort for the player's hands. The 9-ply, 12mm thick Baltic birch resonating body develops a full, punchy tone that projects with clarity and warmth.
Meinl's commitment to quality craftsmanship is evident in every aspect of this cajon. Pepote, a master cajon craftsman, has meticulously tested and refined the wood combinations, varnishes, snare strings, and design features to create a truly exceptional instrument.
