The Meinl Pickup Vertical Subwoofer Cajon is an exceptionally versatile instrument, well-suited for any plugged-in outdoor show, large venue, or intimate acoustic coffee house set. Equipped with passive Piezo pickups for both snare and bass tone, this cajon allows you to individually control the tone with adjustable knobs, enabling you to dial in the perfect mix for the occasion. A volume knob is also included, allowing you to easily adjust the overall output.
Featuring a quarter-inch cable jack, the cajon's signal can be sent through any amp or PA system (cables not included), providing ample amplification options. Additionally, this cajon is equipped with a quarter-inch "link" jack, allowing you to connect other Meinl passive pickup instruments through the cajon's system and control their output using the cajon's dials. This eliminates the need for additional amps or outputs, minimizing your overall setup.
The Meinl Pickup Vertical Subwoofer Cajon's internal design is the key to its exceptional low-end performance. An internal bass reflex system directs sound waves and air through different channels before projecting out through the large, forward-facing vertical sound ports. This gives the frequencies more time to develop inside the body of the cajon, resulting in ultra-low, enhanced bass waves – a mechanical subwoofer, if you will.
Constructed with a Baltic birch frontplate and a durable MDF body, this cajon produces a punchy, warm sound with depth and sensitivity. The internal fixed sets of snare wires (the same type found on snare drums) are fitted against the playing surface to create a snare sound that perfectly complements the cajon's natural bass notes, making it great for finger rolls, deep back beats, or brush patterns.
Measuring 15 ½" W x 19 ¼" H x 11 ¾" D, this extra-wide cajon is equipped with four large rubber feet attached to the underside, keeping the instrument stable and protecting it while dampening unwanted vibrations to preserve sound quality.
When extra amplification is needed, simply dial up the cajon's volume and mix your tone with the Meinl pickup cajons.
