Meinl Percussion Aluminum Octagonal Shaker, Small, Black
Meinl's Octagonal Aluminum Shakers come in three different sizes, and they all have a broad dynamic range with lots of volume. The octagonal shape allows for a much more relaxed grip than large round shakers, as the shaker naturally rests in your fingertips without the need to squeeze tight. This is important because putting pressure on shakers can alter their tone and volume, which can happen more with large round shakers to avoid slippage. With the octagonal shape, you can now determine your sound by changing the pressure, instead of having to do so to prevent the shaker from slipping.
The aluminum body of the shakers produces a crisp middle to high range tone with an articulate response from the straight edges. The fine-shaped internal filling delivers a nice spread of sound without being too harsh or too sloshy. These shakers can be used in a variety of settings, such as acoustic sets, under microphones in louder live settings, recording, jam sessions, or with a worship team. Their versatile dynamics allow for louder accents that fill space, as well as soft motions for light, jazzy ballads.
