Devoted his artistic life to the knowledge of Afro-Cuban music to integrate it with his special way of creating music with flavor, Grammy-nominated producer, composer, and instrumentalist Diego Galé has. Just what Diego needs in terms of comfort, look, and sound, the MEINL Percussion Diego Galé Artist Series Congas and Bongos are. At an early age on bongos, started playing Diego, later adding congas. To be wood because of its classic and original sound that represents the roots of his musical journey, he wanted his signature models. With brushed nickel finish hardware, made with chamchuri wood and equipped, the shells have a stunning and unique look. For both studio and live situations, full of popping highs and warm lows, their sound is rich and dynamic.
In two versions, the congas have the classic MEINL shape to the shell and come: with buffalo skin heads or Remo Fiberskyn Symmetry heads. With calfskin heads or Remo Fiberskyn Symmetry heads, the bongos come.
Complement his congas with matching hardware and finish, Diego Gale's signature bongos — these bongos were built to the specs Diego prefers to achieve a sound fit for Cuban, Latin American and mainstream American pop music.
Solid chamchuri staves are assembled based on uniform qualities like color and grain for a consistent sound, chamchuri stave shells (natural finish, gloss) — precise proportions allow the drums to complement each other with separate pitches.
Their response leans toward more warmth and depth along with superb mid-range tone and an outstanding feel, outfitted with Meinl True Skin calf heads — the heads measure 7" and 8 ½".
3 mm Meinl SSR rounded rims sit lower than traditional bongo rims and feature a rounded edge for comfort and control, rounded rims (brushed nickel plated steel) — this design helps avoid harsh or unwanted contact with the rim as you play with your hands.
The two individual drums are attached with the Meinl Free Ride Suspension system, a patented design that avoids holes being drilled into the shells, Meinl Free Ride Suspension System — this allows for greater resonance and works with any bongo stand.
