The Meinl Jumbo Subwoofer Cajon boasts a forward-projecting sound port, replacing the traditional rear-facing style, and an internal reflex channel. This design results in an enhanced bass note projection, particularly desirable for live and unplugged situations. Fixed internal snare wires deliver a crisp and cutting sound that enhances corner slaps and adds a touch of contrast to bass notes. The Jumbo Bass Cajon is designed to project immensely deep bass tones that swell with harder playing and provide slight punches behind soft notes, responding much like a kick drum.

The cajon's frontplate is crafted from walnut (Juglans regia L.), making it the BIGGEST AND BASSIEST CAJON in Meinl's lineup. The heavy low-end bass can be felt across a room, creating serious thump, far exceeding even Meinl's traditional cajons, but without exceeding the volume expected for cajons.

The deep, rhythmic bass of this cajon has the power to move people and music more than just about anything else, allowing users to bring that feeling to quieter acoustic gigs while staying within the typical volume range of cajons. The jumbo-size body features internal bass reflex channels that develop deeper low frequencies, and the forward-facing sound ports project that tone toward the audience. Additionally, the cajon is equipped with two internal fixed sets of snares for a crisp pop.

Meinl has designed the cajon with two large front ports to fill a venue with extra natural volume, and there is no rear-facing port, unlike most cajons. Instead, there is a recessed carrying handle on the back to make it easy to pick up the cajon.

The responsive walnut playing surface provides definition and warmth, while the durable modern composite body reflects sound instead of absorbing it, resulting in a clear tone and an extra sturdy construction.
